Awards
CHIME has established several awards to honor and acknowledge our members and the outstanding work that they are doing at their organizations. These awards recognize outstanding leadership and collaboration efforts by CIOs as well as innovative and transformational applications of technology in healthcare.
CHIME-AHA Transformational Leadership Award
CHIME and the American Hospital Association have created an award to acknowledge outstanding Transformational
Leadership using IT in healthcare. Given jointly to both the CIO and CEO, the award will recognize an organization
that has excelled in developing and deploying transformational information technology that improves the delivery of
care and streamlines administrative services.
The Innovator of the Year Award is designed to provide peer recognition to
a CIOs who have demonstrated value to their organization through the creative application of technology in support of
their organization's key and strategic business objectives.
The recipient of the annual John Gall
CIO of the Year Award is jointly determined by CHIME and by HIMSS and is given to the CIO who has best demonstrated
the qualities of leadership in healthcare.
The recipients of both awards must be CHIME members; if you are doing creative and innovative things at your organization,
join CHIME for a great opportunity to be recognized by your peers and your professional organizations.
The CHIME Collaboration Award was
designed to recognize the best collaborative effort as evidenced in a document co-authored by a CHIME Foundation firm and a
CHIME member. The co-authored paper should have value for the healthcare IT/IS arena in terms of both the collaborative
effort and the overall topic.
The umbrella theme for the Collaboration Award is “healthcare business success.” Participating firms must belong
to the CHIME Foundation. Participating CIOs must be members of CHIME.
Sponsored by the CHIME Board of Trustees, the Collaboration Award will be presented annually at the Fall CIO Forum.
