Scholarships

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) created the CHIME Education Foundation as a charitable organization to support the educational development of the next generation of healthcare IT leaders. The Education Foundation provides scholarships and tuition assistance to CHIME members and future CIOs for attendance at a variety of educational conferences, events, and professional development programs.

All scholarships are provided by the CHIME Education Foundation and the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews all applications and selects all scholarship winners. Visit the CHIME Education Foundation website for more information.

The CHIME Edge Scholarship

The primary objective of the CHIME Edge Scholarship is to help CHIME members at small and/or rural organizations attend CHIME events. This scholarship is intended for members from small organizations who would not otherwise be able to attend CHIME’s education programs due to restricted or non-existent training and/or travel budgets.

The scholarship can be used for registration fees, travel, and housing toward any of CHIME’s educational programs, up to $2500. CHIME’s educational programs currently include the Spring CIO Forum, the Fall CIO Forum, LEAD Forums, and the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp. Up to four $2500 scholarships will be awarded each year. Click here for more details on the CHIME Edge Scholarship.

John Glaser Scholarships

CHIME recognizes how important it is for IT staff to hone their skills and continue their professional development. The John Glaser Scholarship was established to acknowledge IT staff members who show a great potential for advancement to a CIO and who are dedicated to professional development.

Two scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded annually to IT staff; recipients must be employed by a current CHIME member. Click here for more details on the John Glaser Scholarship Program.

Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Alumni Scholarship

The primary objective of the Boot Camp Alumni Scholarship is to continue to provide educational, leadership and professional opportunities to “up and coming” Healthcare Information Technology professionals. This scholarship is meant for CHIME Boot Camp Alumni who have not yet progressed to the CIO position and whose education, aptitude, experience and values are consistent with the CHIME Seven CIO Success factors. Click here for more details on the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Alumni Scholarship.

Boot Camp Minority Scholarships

The primary objective of the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Minority Scholarship is to enable more minorities to enter and move ahead in the healthcare IT profession and, in particular, to help them develop their skills so they can become successful healthcare Chief Information Officers (CIOs). These scholarships are available to minority candidates who show significant potential to become a CIO, or for CIOs whose career will directly benefit from attending the Boot Camp program.

The scholarships will be awarded each in the amount of the full tuition fee for attendance at the Boot Camp program. There will be two scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded for attendance at the Fall Boot Camp program. Click here for more details on the Boot Camp Minority Scholarships.

Boot Camp Women’s Scholarships

The primary objective of the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Women’s Scholarship is to enable more women to enter and move ahead in the healthcare IT profession and, in particular, to help them develop their skills so they can become successful healthcare Chief Information Officers (CIOs). These scholarships are available to female candidates who show significant potential to become a CIO, or for CIOs whose career will directly benefit from attending the Boot Camp program.

The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of the full tuition fee for attendance at the Boot Camp program. There will be two scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded for attendance at the Fall Boot Camp program.
