The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) created the CHIME Education Foundation as a charitable
organization to support the educational development of the next generation of healthcare IT leaders. The Education Foundation
provides scholarships and tuition assistance to CHIME members and future CIOs for attendance at a variety of educational
conferences, events, and professional development programs.
All scholarships are provided by the CHIME Education Foundation and the Foundation’s Scholarship Committee reviews all applications
and selects all scholarship winners. Visit the CHIME Education Foundation

The CHIME Edge Scholarship
The primary objective of the CHIME Edge Scholarship is to help CHIME members at small and/or rural organizations attend CHIME
events. This scholarship is intended for members from small organizations who would not otherwise be able to attend CHIME’s education
programs due to restricted or non-existent training and/or travel budgets.
The scholarship can be used for registration fees, travel, and housing toward any of CHIME’s educational programs, up to $2500.
CHIME’s educational programs currently include the Spring CIO Forum, the Fall CIO Forum, LEAD Forums, and the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp.

John Glaser Scholarships
CHIME recognizes how important it is for IT staff to hone their skills and continue their professional development. The
John Glaser Scholarship was established to acknowledge IT staff members who show a great potential for advancement to a CIO
and who are dedicated to professional development.
Two scholarships of $3,000 each will be awarded annually to IT staff; recipients must be employed by a current CHIME member.

Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Alumni Scholarship
The primary objective of the Boot Camp Alumni Scholarship is to continue to provide educational, leadership and professional
opportunities to “up and coming” Healthcare Information Technology professionals. This scholarship is meant for CHIME Boot Camp
Alumni who have not yet progressed to the CIO position and whose education, aptitude, experience and values are consistent with
the CHIME Seven CIO Success factors. Click here for more

Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Member Scholarships
The primary objective of the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Member Scholarship is to enable CHIME members to move ahead in their
profession and, in particular, to help them develop their skills so they can become increasingly successful in the CIO role.
These scholarships are available to CHIME members whose career will directly benefit from attending the Boot Camp program.
The scholarships will be awarded in the amount of the full tuition fee for attendance at the Boot Camp program. There will be two
scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded
for attendance at the Fall Boot Camp program. Click here for more details

Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Military Member Scholarship Program
The primary objective of the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Military Member Scholarship is to enable CHIME members who are in the
military to move ahead in their profession and, in particular, to help them develop their skills so they can become increasingly
successful in the CIO role. These scholarships are available to military CHIME members whose career will directly benefit from
attending the Boot Camp program.
The scholarships will be awarded in the amount $5,000 and will cover the full tuition fee for attendance at the Boot Camp
program, with the remainder to be used for travel expenses. There will be two scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship
will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded for attendance at the Fall Boot Camp program.

The primary objective of the Healthcare CIO Boot Camp Minority Scholarship is to enable more minorities to enter and move ahead in
the healthcare IT profession and, in particular, to help them develop their skills so they can become successful healthcare Chief
Information Officers (CIOs). These scholarships are available to minority candidates who show significant potential to become a CIO,
or for CIOs whose career will directly benefit from attending the Boot Camp program.
The scholarships will be awarded each in the amount of the full tuition fee for attendance at the Boot Camp program. There will be two
scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded for

Officers (CIOs). These scholarships are available to female candidates who show significant potential to become a CIO, or for CIOs whose

scholarships awarded annually; one scholarship will be awarded for attendance at the Spring Boot Camp program and one will be awarded

The Women’s CIO Scholarship
The Women’s CIO Scholarship was created to enable more women CIOs to excel and progress in the healthcare IT industry. The scholarship
is aimed at supporting female CIOs in improving their skills as IT leaders at their organizations and increasing their proficiency in CHIME’s
seven CIO Success Factors.
Scholarship winners can use the funds for education related to improving in the Success Factor area(s) they identified on the scholarship
application (including registration fees/tuition, and travel costs* to attend). Click here for more details or to

Named Scholarships
The Named Scholarships are funded by generous donations from CHIME members and other executives who have a vested interest in the education
and professional development of CIOs in the healthcare industry. The scholarships are aimed at supporting CIOs and their staff in improving
their skills as an IT leader at their organization and increasing their proficiency in CHIME’s seven CIO Success Factors.
The HP Innovation in Healthcare Scholarship
The HP Innovation in Healthcare Scholarship is the result of a generous $50,000 donation from HP. Since 1939, HP has been a driving force in
technology innovation. With this scholarship, HP is helping to create the next generation of healthcare IT innovators through CIO-focused education.
Stoltenberg 25-year Future Fund
The Stoltenberg 25-year Future Fund is the result of a $50,000 donation to the CHIME Education Foundation by Stoltenberg Consulting, Inc. The scholarship will be given as an annual $2,000 award. Recipients may use the funding for education including but not limited to CHIME’s Healthcare CIO Boot Camp, Fall CIO Forum, or the CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum.
CHIME10 CIO Forum Scholarship
The CHIME10 CIO Forum Scholarship was created to promote leadership education and development to IT professionals in the healthcare industry. Funded by a generous multi-year donation by Epic Systems, the scholarship will provide funding (up to $1500) for a CHIME member to attend the CHIME10 CIO Forum in Phoenix, AZ.
