Welcome to CHIME Advocacy
CHIME's Advocacy Program was founded in 2007 and works to advance the role of CIOs and senior healthcare IT leaders by providing educational, collaborative and advocacy programs that lead to improved health and healthcare in our communities. We work alongside our member CIOs to shape the legislative and regulatory environment for health IT public policies so the benefits of an e-enabled healthcare system can be realized. Through the leadership of our member-driven Advocacy Leadership Team and Policy Steering Committee, CHIME strategically helps shape the implementation of federal and state policies for transforming the delivery of healthcare in the United States using information technology.
CHIME's Advocacy efforts also extend to the state and local arena through a 50-State (and the District of Columbia) network of CIOs, called CHIME StateNet. This network was created to gather and communicate relevant health IT developments among public and private stakeholders.
Please contact Senior Director of Advocacy Sharon Canner or Assistant Director of Advocacy Jeffery Smith for more information on how to join our efforts or to better understand CHIME's policy positions.
