ANN ARBOR, MI, December 14, 2011 – The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) is pleased to announce the election of members Randy McCleese CHCIO and Melinda Costin to its Board of Trustees.
McCleese is Vice President of Information Services and CIO at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Kentucky. He has more than 24 years of information systems management experience with 16 years in healthcare.
McCleese has been a committed member of CHIME since 1998. He has served on numerous working groups within the organization including the CHIME Membership Committee, Fall and Spring Forum Planning Committees, and CHIME Education Foundation Fundraising Committee.
Currently he is an active member of CHIME’s Advocacy Leadership Team and is the StateNet Coordinator for Kentucky. McCleese is also heavily involved with the CHIME Certified Healthcare CIO (CHCIO) Program, serving as a participant in the item writing process, the passing point panel, item and scenario review group, and most recently the CHCIO Governing Board. He is a Certified Healthcare CIO and is the recipient of the 2009 inaugural CHIME State Advocacy Award.
“I am honored to be elected and look forward to working with CHIME members as the healthcare industry undergoes its most dramatic changes,” said McCleese. “CHIME is in the unique position to be leading healthcare information technology as reliance upon HIT becomes more important. I want to thank CHIME members for allowing me the opportunity to serve on the Board.”
Costin is Vice President at Baylor Health Care System in Dallas, with over 35 years of healthcare experience.
Costin has been a part of CHIME, as both a Foundation member, and now as a CHIME member for over 10 years. A graduate of the CHIME Healthcare CIO Boot Camp, she has served on both the CHIME Membership Committee and CHIME Fall Forum Planning Committee.
“It is an honor to have the opportunity to participate in this way with such a vibrant organization as CHIME,” said Costin. “I look forward to working with others to continue CHIME’s focus on encouraging IT professionals to integrate closely with their clinical and business partners to address operational goals. I believe that developing our Affinity groups and coordinating their needs with our Foundation members will continue to strengthen these relationships.”
McCleese and Costin, who replace vacant seats left by outgoing Board members David Muntz and Lynn Vogel, will begin their three-year terms starting on January 1, 2012.
