CHIME Holds Charitable Event in Orlando
Orlando, FL, February 26, 2008 - On Saturday, February 23, 2008, a group of 35 CHIME members, CHIME Foundation representatives, and CHIME staff gathered to provide assistance to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida.
CHIME, a membership organization supporting the educational and professional development needs of healthcare Chief Information Officers (CIOs), was in Orlando for the annual CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum on Sunday, February 24th. Last year, the CHIME/HIMSS CIO Forum was held in New Orleans, where CHIME organized a community service project with Habitat for Humanity.
CHIME volunteers worked at the Food Bank on Saturday afternoon, sorting and boxing food for distribution to needy families in the central Florida area. “We truly enjoyed providing assistance to this worthy organization,” said CHIME President & CEO Rich Correll. “I am grateful that our members gave so freely of their time and energy.”
The Second Harvest Food Bank of Central Florida is a private, nonprofit organization that collects, stores and distributes donated food to more than 450 nonprofit partner agencies in six Central Florida counties: Brevard, Lake, Orange, Osceola, Seminole and Volusia. For more information about the organization, visit http://www.foodbankcentralflorida.org.
CHIME is grateful to EMC for their contribution to this event.
About CHIME
The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) was formed with the dual objectives of serving the professional development needs of healthcare CIOs and advocating the more effective use of information management within healthcare. CHIME's events and activities were designed to reflect that purpose, including CIO-oriented surveys, education programs, and networking activities. With membership of over 1,200 CIOs, CHIME has established itself as the premier organization serving the needs of healthcare CIOs. CHIME's educational initiatives are supported by the CHIME Foundation, a group of 55 providers of healthcare IS products and services.
