Russell P. Branzell Named CHIME Fellow

The College of Healthcare Information Management Executives is pleased to welcome its 37th Fellow as Russell P. Branzell earned the esteemed status this year.

Branzell, CIO and VP of IS/VP of HR at Poudre Valley Health System (Ft. Collins, CO) joined CHIME in 1998. Since then he has actively participated in and contributed to numerous CHIME educational programs and services, including CIO Forums, LEAD Forums, Healthcare CIO Boot Camps, CHIME Foundation Boot Camps, and CHIME Foundation Focus Groups.

Mr. Branzell is a past member of the CHIME Board of Directors (2004-2008), past Chairperson of the CHIME Education Committee (2004-2008), and currently serves as Program Director and a member of faculty for CHIME’s Healthcare CIO Boot Camp (since 2006). He was instrumental in the development and ongoing success of CHIME’s LEAD Forum and CHIME Foundation Boot Camp education programs, serving both as Program Director and as a member of faculty for both since their inception. In addition, he has served as Chairperson of CHIME’s Spring and Fall CIO Forum Planning Committees. Mr. Branzell currently serves on the CHIME Education Foundation Board.

“Russ has given so much to CHIME, particularly his contributions to and advancement of our education programs,” said CHIME President and CEO Rich Correll. “He has been active with us since he joined, and I’m pleased that we are able to honor him in this way.”

The CHIME Fellow program is recognition for service and contribution to the organization, not just an acknowledgment of the length of membership in CHIME. The CHIME Board of Trustees offers advancement to Fellow status for those members who have been long standing contributors to the success of CHIME.
