AHA to Co-Sponsor CHIME Award

Ann Arbor, MI, April 18, 2008 – CHIME is pleased to announce that the American Hospital Association (AHA) has signed on to be a co-sponsor of CHIME’s Transformational Leadership Award.

The award was designed to honor an organization that has excelled in developing and deploying transformational information technology that improves the delivery of care and streamlines administrative services. The first Transformational Leadership Award was presented to the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in 2006 in recognition of their physician-driven IT initiatives. Last year’s award was presented to Lehigh Valley Hospital & Health Network in recognition of their commitment to transforming patient care through investment in information technology.

Rich Correll, President & CEO of CHIME, says that collaborating with the AHA on the award will be beneficial to CHIME, as well as to the award itself. “We are grateful for the AHA’s support of this important award. The award provides unique recognition to organizations that are advancing healthcare IT in creative and innovative ways, which is a worthy goal that both CHIME and the AHA are committed to advocating.”
