Innovator of the Year Award
Submission due by August 13, 2010

Purpose
The purpose of the Innovator of the Year Award is to:
  • Provide peer recognition for CHIME Members who have demonstrated value to their respective organization through the creative application of technology in support of their organizations key and strategic business objective.
  • Provide an opportunity for innovative solutions to be openly shared with the CHIME membership for possible application in other healthcare environments.
  • To acknowledge the creative and innovative application of technology in support of some segment of the healthcare industry (i.e. Provider, Managed Care/Payer, etc.).

Criteria
  1. There must be a direct correlation between the IT initiative and accomplishment of a documented organizational objective.
  2. Achieved benefits from initiative must be quantifiable and sustained.
  3. Concept must be transportable and have application to other healthcare organizations.
  4. Accomplishment must have written acknowledgment from the organization’s CEO and or representative of the Board of Directors.
  5. The IT initiative must have been completed within two years of the submission date for the award.

Nominations - Online Nomination Form

All nominees for the Award must be a current CHIME member in good standing. Nominations for this Award can come from another CHIME member, a Foundation member, or an employee from the organization that the CHIME member works for. Members can also nominate themselves for the Award by completing the application form.

If a nomination is received from someone who isn’t the award candidate, the CHIME staff will contact the nominee to see if they would be like to be considered as a candidate for the award. All individuals who wish to be considered for the Award must submit a formal application to CHIME.

Application Process - Online Application Form

The award will be given once a year, at the Fall CIO Forum. Applications for the award will be accepted year round. Applications will be reviewed in August of each year; applications that come in after the annual review process will be considered for the following year’s Award. The Award will be given annually at the Fall CIO Forum.
