Nordic completes move to 50,000 square-foot Madison office space

MADISON, Wis. – Nordic has completed a move to its new home office location at Arbor Gate on the Beltline in Madison. With the move, Nordic now occupies 50,000 square feet across parts of four floors, nearly doubling the amount of space at its previous location on Regent Street. The move was celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Wednesday.

In under 10 years, Nordic has grown from a startup to become one of the nation’s largest independently owned healthcare consulting firms with over 850 consultants across the U.S. and Canada. More than 200 of Nordic’s 1,000-plus employees currently work in the Madison home office, which has room to accommodate 350 employees.

The office space features open concept working and collaboration spaces and 12-foot-tall windows overlooking the University of Wisconsin Arboretum. The space has three wellness rooms, and each floor has kitchens or break rooms offering free snacks, coffee machines, and sparkling water dispensers.

Nordic, which was recently ranked the No. 1 Best Place to Work by Madison Magazine, worked with local design firm Thysse to design and install interior branding to highlight and inspire Nordic’s award-winning culture.

“As we diversify the ways in which we can support our healthcare clients by delivering better care for patients and families, we will continue to see growth in our presence in Madison,” EVP of Human Resources Vicki Ryan said. “We wanted a shared space for our local teammates that inspires the type of innovation and collaboration that sets us apart. In addition to offering the square footage that we need, the Arbor Gate space provides an environment worthy of the Best Place to Work in Madison.”

Nordic worked with multiple local companies to successfully select, build out, and re-design the new space. In addition to Thysse, the list of local partners includes commercial real estate firms Cresa Madison and MIG Commercial Real Estate, commercial contractor Ideal Builders, architecture and interior design firm Potter Lawson, and Henricksen for office furniture.

The new location provides plenty of onsite parking to accommodate all of Nordic’s Madison-based teammates, something that was challenging to achieve within downtown Madison. It is also centrally located on a Madison Metro Transit bus route and just off the Cannonball Path bike trail.

While moving can put a strain on the environment, Nordic has worked to mitigate its environmental impact. Much of Nordic’s building materials were reused, including ceiling tiles, carpets, and light fixtures as well as furniture. With the installation of flavored sparkling and flat water dispensers, Nordic is reducing the use of aluminum cans and reducing its beverage waste by 50%.
